Jan. 17, 2008 The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has partnered up with NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Branding and Promotions to bring Pack the House Challenge, which will be held at the UTPA Fieldhouse, on Friday (Feb.1). Participating in the Pack the House Challenge allows NCAA member schools to compete against schools in their own conference as well as all Division I schools for a chance to be the 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Pack the House Challenge Champion and win great prizes. "The pack the house challenge is an attempt put forth by the NCAA to increase attendance at women's basketball events," said Director of Athletic Marketing and Promotions Natalie Haime. "I'm hoping that people will come out and support the Lady Broncs and help us reach an all-time attendance goal." "I feel that once people come out and watch a Lady Bronc game and participate during the event, they will see how much fun the games are and support such a talented team, added Haime." The NCAA will make a $500 donation to a non-profit organization (of each institution's choice and subject to approval by the NCAA) on behalf of each of the 32 winners. Pack the House Challenge will take place on Friday (Feb. 1) when the Lady Broncs host Longwood Univeristy with game-time slated for 7:05 p.m. UTPA Sports Information |
