Nov. 17, 2006 The University of Texas-Pan American Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has partnered with KGBT Channel 4 (CBS affiliate) to telecast a weekly UTPA Coach's Show featuring head coaches Tom Schuberth and DeAnn Craft. In his first season as the UTPA head men's basketball coach, Schuberth has guided the Broncs to a 3-0 start during the 2006-07 campaign and became the first head coach in UTPA program history to win his first three games with the program. The UTPA head coach brings 24 years of experience to the Bronc sidelines where he coached at some of the top programs in the country in the University of Memphis, University of Central Florida and Southeast Missouri State. Craft begins her fourth season as head coach of the Lady Broncs and has already captured the title as the all-time leader in career wins for the women's program. This season, the Lady Broncs are off to a 2-0 start with a tremendous mix of talented returning lettermen and aggressive, athletic newcomers that have the program poised for a successful 2006-07 campaign. KGBT Channel 4 Sports Director Clay Williams will host the show, which will be shown on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., and will feature an in-depth look at the status of the UTPA men's and women's basketball programs on a week-to-week basis. The show will offer a mix of information related to the UTPA men's and women's basketball programs, including game reviews, upcoming previews, player analysis and insights to the life of a collegiate coach and student-athlete. This will be the inaugural year of the UTPA Coach's Show pairing both the men's and women's basketball programs together along with other events and features surrounding The University of Texas-Pan American campus. The weekly show will also include a UTPA Golf Tip of the Week featuring head men's golf coach Andrew Tredway and head women's golf coach Barb Odale. Faithful of the Broncs and Lady Broncs can tune into KGBT Channel 4 on Sunday mornings at 10:30 prior to the beginning of the CBS NFL Football Show to gain valuable insight into the men's and women's basketball programs.
