Nov. 20, 2009 HOUSTON, TX--University of Texas-Pan American Director of Athletics, Chris King, attended the UTPA Houston Alumni Association Board of Director's meeting at Papa's Seafood Restaurant in Houston, Thursday (Nov. 19). "The board was very excited to meet Chris. We felt his enthusiasm when he spoke and we know he will be a good fit for the university and the community," said David Garza UTPA Houston Alumni Chapter president. "We liked what he said in terms of his strategy and we look forward to working with him in the future," added Garza. "For both the athletic department and myself, this was a great opportunity to engage with UTPA Alumni and former letter winners," said Chris King, UTPA Director of Athletics. "This is one step of many to build on existing relationships and forge ahead to build new ones with our alumni and letter winners," added King. Board members in attendance were, Veronica Lopez, Nellie Gonzalez, Maribel Rodriguez, Minerva Perez, Cris Garza, Marty Urand, Dan Martinez David Garza and Tony Balderas.
