Player Profile
Inducted:
Class of 2009

The 1971 College World Series team pulled one of the greatest upsets in the program's history as they shutout Texas twice and were crowned the District VI champions, which earned them the berth to the CWS.

The Broncs dropped their first match-up against Southern Illinois, but picked up wins in games two and three, but fell short to Southern Illinois in the final game and ended their campaign with 44 victories - an all-time record for any Texas college or university at the time.

The 1971 team was selected as the top-ranked team in the country at season's end and led the nation in fielding. Former head coach Al Ogletree was named Coach of the Year by The Sporting News along with the South Plains Professional Scouts Association.
