2008-09 Season [Freshman]
The UTPA freshman made an impact on the squad as he made his way on the starting lineup in the last 11 contests of the season...concluded his first campaign with the Broncs averaging 5.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game...scored a career-high 23 points versus Longwood (Feb. 14, 2009) on a career-high 10-of-12 shooting from the field (.833)...posted five contests with double-digit points...shot 5-for-10 from the field against UTSA (Dec. 18) along with a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe...earned his first collegiate start versus Drake (Dec. 5) at the Drake Iowa Realty Tournament and finished 2-for-4 from the field and 3-for-4 from the line...posted six rebounds on two occasions this past season; once against Texas A&M-International (Feb. 4) and the other against North Carolina Central (Feb. 21)...concluded his freshman campaign ranking second amongst the squad in free throw percentage (.700); third in three-point field-goals made (10) and attempted (47) and minutes played (679); fourth in assists (36); fifth in field-goal attempts (131), free throws made (35) and attempted (50), rebounds (64), rebounds per game (2.4) and steals (13); sixth in three-point field-goal percentage (.213) and points per game (5.5); and 10th in field-goal percentage (.397)...earned Dean's List First Honors for the first time in his career...made the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club for the fall and earned a perfect 4.0 during the spring semester.
High School
Maree was a standout athlete for Cesar Chavez HS...received MVP honors...was awarded Defensive and Offensive accolades...made the First-Team All-District team...recorded a game-high 40 points...during his senior campaign, helped his team to a 28-7 overall record...was part of the Christian Club and was an honor student.

Maree is the son of Daniel and Lynnetta Maree...has one brother - Jason...born on Aug. 27, 1989...majoring in Business with an emphasis in Computer Information Systems.
