Game Information

  • UTPA will face Southern Methodist University on Tuesday (Jan. 24) at the UTPA Fieldhouse with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.

  • Fans of the Green and Orange can hear the game live via the airwaves with the new voice of the Broncs - Alex del Barrio. The game will be aired on ESPN Radio 1240 AM. The game will also be heard over the Internet at http://utpabroncs.collegesports.com/ot/txpa-internet-broadcast.html

  • In their last meeting, SMU came away with a 69-59 victory at the South Padre Island Convention Center on Nov. 22, 2003.

    In Their Last Game

  • The Broncs snapped a three-game winning streak as they dropped a 61-56 decision to Independent-foe IPFW at the UTPA Fieldhouse on Saturday (Jan. 21) and watched as their record fell to 5-14 on the season.

    Bronc Bytes - News And Notes

  • Dexter Shankle has already surpassed all of his statistical marks from his rookie campaign as he is currently leading the team, averaging 11.0 points per game compared to 2.1 points per game last season.

  • Shankle leads the squad with 12 double-digit scoring performances followed by Colin Lien (eight), Kano Edwards (seven), Derrick East (six) and Johnathan Chatman (six).

  • Edwards has led the Broncs in scoring in three of the last four games and has recorded three double-digit scoring performances during that time. In the last four games, Edwards is averaging 16.3 points per game.

  • In the last two games, Cori Gaither has started to find his shooting touch as he is averaging 7.0 points per game and shooting 75.0 percent from the field.

  • Alex Robinson is the only freshman to see action in all 19 games.
