1. How do you feel this season will turn out now that Coach Schuberth is the new head coach?
CL - "Coach Schuberth knows basketball very well. He was an assistant coach for 24 years and that gives him big credit. He's been through a lot and that helps the team because we've been through a lot as well. He puts everything in a positive manner."
2. With six new guys on the team, how do you feel they will impact the team?
CL - "Each guy brings in something new to the table, and stuff we need or lack."
3. With a week to go for the first game of the season, how do you anticipate that game will go?
CL - "I think it will go very smoothly. We've been practicing really hard all the time, and when you play hard, good things happen."
4. What was the hardest part about basketball season last year?
CL - "It was tough going to some of the schools. Our schedule was hard, especially against teams like Air Force, Arkansas, and Illinois. Our competition was tough especially with a bunch of new guys on the team, and our chemistry wasn't all that great."
5. How were you chosen to be a part of the Sports Reach Basketball Team? How was your experience in China?
CL - "Coach Schuberth knew the coach in charge, and it was sort of a last minute deal. They needed a big guy so they chose me. I had everything done in two days like my passport. It was a culture shock when I got over there, but I had fun, especially walking the Great Wall. We visited Beijing, China, which was a real busy city. The flight over there was horrible."
6. Being a senior, what do you feel you gained from this experience here at UTPA?
CL - "I've gained confidence in my game personally, and I've learned how good a team is. They are like a band of brothers, and I like that since I'm an only child. I lacked that growing up."
7. What are your goals for this season?
CL - "My goals are to play hard all the time in practice and in games; to win every game; to lead by example and have a good time. GO BIG OR GO HOME!"
8. You played for Southeastern Community College for two seasons. What made you transfer to UTPA?
CL - "UTPA was only full-ride scholarship, and they were the only ones who had interest in me. When I got down here, I liked it a lot.
9. What is the greatest challenge for you in basketball?
CL - "Having confidence in your game. When you step out on the floor, you have to believe it even if you're not the best. You cannot be cocky, and the hardest part was going from high school to college. My freshman year was the hardest."
10. Who has had the greatest influence on you playing basketball?
CL - "My father."
1. What is the first thing you pack when going on a road trip?
CL - My underwear and socks, contact solution with extra contacts and deodorant.
2. What was your first welcome moment here at UTPA?
CL - When I got off the plane and saw palm trees. It's different from seeing pine trees your whole life. The coaching staff was also there to greet me.
3. What are your first thoughts when a big game is coming up?
CL - Be prepared and focused and try to win.
4. Who was the first person you could say you admired as a role model?
CL - Michael Jordan... I was infatuated with him when I was younger.
5. What was your first jersey number?
CL - 55... back in middle school.
6. What was the last thing you did in China before coming back to the states?
CL - We walked up the Great Wall of China. It was really humid. We climbed for about 45 minutes to an hour and we were completely drenched in sweat. The steps are really steep so we were scared to fall and slip.
7. What was the last movie trailer you saw and said "This is going to be really stupid...I have to see this!"?
CL - Borat

CL - "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas
9. When was the last time you told yourself you were going to do something, but never did it?
CL - Going to see a bad movie

CL - Back in May... I went home for about eight weeks.
