UTPA BroncBusters - Craig Berger

April 4, 2005

1. With three tournaments under the team's belt during the spring season, what is your assessment of the team thus far?
CB - "I think we've gotten a lot out of it so far. We didn't play well in the beginning of the season, but we gained a lot of experience. I think that there are a lot of good things to come for the remainder of the season."

2. How has the team grown since the fall season?
CB - "We have definitely grown a lot. The new guys have gained a tremendous amount of experience since the fall season."

3. What thoughts run through your head before, during and after every hole?
CB - "Before the shot, I just like to visual where I want to hit it. I really don't think too much during the shot, and I really just try to go blank. Afterwards, it's just watching the ball and hoping that it's a decent shot."

4. If you have to grade yourself on your performance during the spring season - how would you do it and why?
CB - "I've played pretty decent so far. I changed a lot in my swing by making it more compact since the fall season. I didn't play as well as I would have liked in my last three tournaments, but I can see the improvement that I've been making."

5. What do you believe is the biggest difference in your game from your freshman season to now?
CB - "It's definitely experience. I've learned a lot about the mental game of golf, and learning the basis of it."

6. What were your goals coming into the spring season, and are you on track in attaining them?
CB - "The only goals that I really set for myself is to play the best that I can. I haven't been placing as good as I would like, but as long as I try my best then I'm succeeding."

7. What's the one thing that the everyday person wouldn't understand about life as a collegiate golfer?
CB - "I would say how much work goes into the game. There is a lot of time and effort that goes into golf."

8. When did you start playing golf, and what's kept you playing all these years?
CB - "I started very young, and I don't know exactly how old I was when I began. I started playing in tournaments when I was about 12 or 13. What's kept me playing is just the absolute love for the game because it's so much fun, and there is always something new to learn."

9. Recently, you introduced Drew Scott (head coach) as the biggest influence in your academic environment. Why was it important to you to select him?
CB - "He's really inspired me to do my best in both school and golf. I think that I took my freshman year for granted, and he really inspired and pushed me to get better grade and improve at golf."

10. Who has had the greatest impact on your life and why?
