Kirakossian in Top Spot after Day One of Great West Championships

After shooting a 2-over-par 146, junior Armen Kirakossian leads the pack at the Great West Golf Championships this Monday (April 20) afternoon at the Sienna Plantation Golf Course in Houston, Texas.

Kirakossian shot an even par in round one and a 74 in round two to place him at the top of the list, while senior Shane Pearce trails in a close second with a 3-over-par 147.

In two rounds of play, A.J. Gonzalez and newcomer Orlando Moreno tallied a score of 166 while High Wongchindawest trailed behind the Rio Grande Valley natives with a 167.

With UTPA taking the top two spots, host-squad Houston Baptist leads the team scoring with a 605; UTPA (623), Chicago State (645), South Dakota (656) and North Dakota (661) wrap up the top-five.

The men wrap up the Great West Golf Championships this Tuesday (April) as they finish the remaining 18 holes at the Sienna Plantation Golf Course.
