Junior Armen Kirakossian defended his two-round score of 146 as he was crowned the Great West Conference Golf Champion as he defeated Jordan Jeffers on the first hole of a sudden death playoff.
Kirakossion fired a three-round score of 219 (72-74-73) while Shane Pearce dropped a spot to finish third with an overall score of 220. Kirakossian was named Great West Player of the Year while both he and Pearce earned First Team All-Conference.
As a team, the Broncs finished second as they trailed Houston Baptist by 33 strokes. The Broncs fired a total score of 933 (310-313-310).
High Wongchindawest earned a 16th place finish with a three-round score of 248. Orlando Moreno finished a spot behind Wongchindawest as he finished 17th with a total score of 249. With a score of 256, A.J. Gonzalez finished 21st.
Houston Baptist took the tournament title as they fired a three-round score of 900 (305-300-295). With a 969, Chicago State earned a third place finish while North Dakota (973) and South Dakota (983) round out the top-five.
The men next set their sights for the Minority Collegiate Golf Championships in Port St. Lucie, FL on May 8.
