HUNTSVILLE, TX--After thick fog delayed the start of play, the University of Texas-Pan American men's golf program are sitting in fifth place at the Elkins Lake Fall Men's Golf Classic hosted by Sam Houston State University on Monday (Oct. 12) at the Elkins Lake Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas.

"I very proud of the guys today; they shot a 289, which is an improvement over last week's first round," said head coach Santiago Larrea. "We didn't finish the second due to darkness and rain. We will restart the second round in the morning at 8:30 and start the third round immediately afterwards."

Kevin Kirakossian and Brandon Reyna are tied for 10th with one-under par 71 to lead the Broncs. A.J. Gonzalez is tied for 18th place with first round score 73. Armen Kirakossian shot a 74 placing him tied for 26th and teammate Adam Haley shot an 80. As a team, the Broncs shot a 289, 12 strokes behind first place Stephen F. Austin.

The Elkins Lake Fall Men's Golf Classic will conclude on Tuesday (Oct. 13) in Huntsville, Texas.
