2008-09 Season [Junior]
Bernstein saw action in 13 matches, which include a total of nine victories with six in singles action and three in doubles play...started off his junior campaign with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Andrey Savin of Oral Roberts (1/23)...competed at the No. 4 position in singles play and took turns at all positions in doubles action...handed Fletcher Keyes of Montana State (2/20) a third set super tiebreaker loss as Bernstein won 2-6, 6-2, 6-3...posted a 6-4 mark in singles action...in SLC play, defeated Phenyo Matong (Nicholls State, 2/25) 6-3, 6-2...captured back-to-back conference wins with a victory over UTSA's (3/14) Jorge Delgado (7-6(13), 6-3) and SE Louisiana's (3/18) Benjamin Enke (6-4, 6-3)...saw his first doubles win with partner Marcus Dornauf at the No. 3 position as they defeated Montana State's Myles Perkins and Esteban Ferrero...finished 3-9 in doubles play.
2007-08 Season [Sophomore]
In his second season donning the Bronc green and orange, Bernstein recorded nine wins in singles action including a 2-4 Southland Conference record...defeated Derek DiFazio, 6-3, 6-4, of No. 31 ranked Clemson...handed Jeremy Hubb of Prairie View A&M a 7-5, 6-3 setback...recorded four consecutive wins against No. 31 Clemson, Prairie View A&M, Centenary College, and Arkansas-Little Rock...Bernstein teamed up with Aswin Vijayaragavan in doubles play to collect a 6-8 record in the number-one and -two positions...doubles wins include Southland Conference foes Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana, UTA and ORU...notched a 0-1 record with teammate Andrew Irving as they dropped a 7-9 decision to Mitch Del Rosario/Torin Ching of San Francisco...earned Aeropostale Southland Conference Player of the Week honorable mention honors on one occasion.
2006-07Season [Freshman]
In his first season with the Broncs, Bernstein collected 17 total victories... notched a 9-8 overall record in doubles' competition, including a 6-8 mark with teammate David Lopez-Heredia in both the number-one and number-two positions in the line-up... finished 8-10 overall in singles' competition, including a 2-1 record in tournament competition, to go along with a 9-8 overall record in dual matches at the number-four, -five, and -six positions... posted a 1-2 overall record with teammate Nirvick Mohinta in doubles' competition... notched a singles' victory over 34th ranked Alex McCann of Middle Tennessee State by a 6-4, 6-3 decision at the H.E.B. Invitational... captured six straight singles' victories at the number-one and -two positions of the rotation... handed Hutton Jones of Abilene Christian University a 6-1, 6-2 setback... captured six consecutive victories over Abilene Christian University, Nicholls State, Southern Louisiana, Middle Tennessee, Prairie View A&M and University of Connecticut...posted six wins in his final 10 games of the season... recorded wins against Southland Conference foes-Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls State, and Lamar University... biggest win came against No.21 Texas A&M University... recorded back-to-back wins at the number-four and-five position of the rotation against Ray Josephs of Marist College by scores of 7-6, 7-6 followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win over David Villarreal of Monterrey Tech... collected a 8-4 victory over the doubles' team Emmanuel Olivier and David Wanja of Lamar University... handed an 8-5 setback to Ben Schueler and Joe Goldstein of University of Connecticut... earned Aeropostale Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honorable mention honors... competed in the 2007 Summer ITA Summer Circuit.
Austin High School
Bernstein was ranked in the top 40 in the nation in doubles' competition... was the second seed in the Texas Superchamp Under-18 Tournament during his senior season... ranked among the top 250 seniors in the nation and top 30 seniors in the State of Texas during his final campaign at Austin High School by the Tennis Recruiting Network... competed at the Texas State Tennis Championships during his junior and senior season where he advanced to the finals during his final campaign... recorded a 46-1 record in doubles' competition during his senior season... was ranked first in doubles' action in the State of Texas from Under-12 through Under-17 competition... ranked in the top 20 in the state in singles' action in Under-16 through Under-18 competition... was a member of Team Texas that placed second in the nation during summer competition... won the Texas Grand Slam doubles' title during his senior season... won every major zone doubles' title during his junior playing career... was selected as the team captain for a prep squad that was ranked sixth in the State of Texas... earned four letters in tennis at Austin High School.

Bernstein is the son of Buck and Vicki Bernstein... was born on Dec. 23, 1987... has one brother - Beau... father, Buck, was an All-American at Southwest Texas State... uncle, Bart, was an All-American at Southwest Texas State... majoring in history.
