The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision this afternoon at the McLeod Tennis Center in Lubbock, TX.
In doubles' action, Ivan Avila (Mexico City, Mexico/Texas Southern) and Nirvick Mohinta dropped a 8-3 decision against No. 10 nationally-ranked duo Christian Rojmar and Bojan Szumanski in the top flight.
Falling in the number-two lineup position was tandem Brett Bernstein (Sugarland, TX/Austin H.S.) and Ashwin Vijayaragan (Andhrapradesh, India/ Kenedy Vidya Bhavan H.S.) by score a of 8-6 while Marcus Dornauf (East Launceston, Tasmania, Australia /Scotch Oakburn College Prep) and Andrew Irving (Hamilton, New Zeland/St. John's College) suffered a 8-2 setback over Lenoir Ramos and freshman Jeremy Reed.
In singles' action, senior Avila dropped a 6-3, 6-1 decision against Sinisa Markovic in the number-one spot while newcomer Vijayaragan suffered a 6-1, 6-4 setback to Ramos in the number-two spot of the rotation.
Mohinta fell to Ilya Babinciuc by scores of 7-5, 6-0 in the number-three lineup spot while teammate Irving dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Rojmar in the number-four spot.
Bernstein suffered a 7-5, 6-3 setback over Michael Breler in the number-five spot of the lineup while Dornauf fell to Milos Kustudija by scores of 6-4, 6-1 in the number-six spot.
The Broncs will be back in action tomorrow morning where they will match-up against Clemson at 10 a.m. in Austin, TX.
