The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis team will match-up against rival and nationally-ranked program Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday (Feb.15).
The Broncs fell to 3-4 on the season after falling to 68th ranked Tennessee Tech and Arkansas-Little Rock last weekend in Little Rock, AR.
The Islanders are coming off a 5-2 setback over TCU on Monday (Feb.11) where TAMUCC recorded only two wins in singles' action.
An outstanding performance came from Marcus Dornauf (East Launceston, Tasmania, Aus/Scotch Oakburn College Prep) who recorded a 2-0 record in singles' action and a 1-1 record in doubles' action.
Dornauf collected a 6-2, 6-2 win over James Crawford of 68th ranked Tennessee Tech and a 8-5 victory against Borja Zarco and Mario Gutierrez with partner Nirvick Mohinta (Calcutta, West Bengal, India/University of New Orleans).
The newcomer followed that performance with a 7-6, 3-6, and 15-13 win over Victor Wibreus of Arkansas-Little Rock.
The Islanders have lost their last two games to nationally-ranked programs Arizona and Texas Christian University.
The Broncs will head to Corpus Christi, TX where they will meet the Islanders in their first home game of the season on Friday (Feb. 15) with match-time set for 5 p.m.
