As the Broncs (4-12, 3-2 SLC) returned to the Orville Cox Tennis Center to play host to Laredo Community College, the Broncs received a 6-1 upset by the Palominos this Tuesday (March 31) afternoon.

The Broncs were unsuccessful as they dropped three close matches in doubles play and did not pick up the point. In a hard fought battle, Aswin Vijayaragavan and Brett Bernstein dropped a close 9-8 decision to M. Santos and C. Carvalho in number-one doubles.

Nirvick Mohinta and Beau Bernstein fell short to J. Tolentino and L. Arias as they lost 8-4 and Andrew Irving and Marcus Dornauf lost 8-5 to M. Lesage and L. Campos in number-three doubles.

The Broncs lone win in singles came in the number-five spot of the rotation as Beau Bernstein defeated Lesage 6-2, 6-4. Bernstein is 6-3 in his last 10 matches.

In number-one singles, Vijayaragavan was defeated 7-5, 6-2 by Santos, while Mohinta and Irving dropped 6-1, 6-1 decisions to Carvalho and Tolentino respectively.

Brett Bernstein retired his match allowing Arias to win by default and Marcus Dornauf dropped his match in a third set super tiebreaker as Campos won 6-1, 4-6, 10-8.

The Broncs next prepare for a conference match against Lamar on April 11 with match-time set for 1:00 p.m. CT.
