The University of Texas-Pan American Broncs showed no mercy at the second day of the UTSA Invite, hosted by, University of Texas-San Antonio. The Broncs dominated the tournament, as Brett Bernstein and Marcus Dornauf won their singles finals.
This morning the Broncs stepped on court for their quarter-finals doubles matches. Brett Bernstein and Aswin Vijayaragavan played St. Edwards in their quarter-finals match handing them an 8-5 loss. While younger brother Beau Bernstein and partner,Nirvick Mohinta also played a St. Edwards team in their quarter-finals and dominated the match winning 8-2. Brett Bernstein and Aswin Vijayaragavan are a lethal pair as they conquered Alpar and Dean from the 14th ranked school in the nation, Texas A&M University 8-4. Beau Bernstein and Nirvick Mohinta played their hardest, but came up short to Morgado and Ayala from UTSA as they were handed an 8-4 loss in the doubles semis.

In the doubles consolation draw Marcus Dornauf, who was paired with Blackshear from Texas A&M University, lost 8-2 against Devose and Velez from Tyler Junior College. Marcus Dornauf competed strong in doubles considering he was not paired with his usual doubles player, or a member of his team.
In the singles blue draw semi-finals match Aswin Vijayaragavan faced Delgado from UTSA and crushed the roadrunner 6-4, 6-0 at his home court stadium. In the semi finals match of the orange draw, Brett Bernstein handed his opponent a similar fate, as he dominated Meeks from Tyler Junior College winning 6-2, 6-3. Younger brother, Beau Bernstein played in the other semi-finals match of the orange draw, but came up short against Roessle from Tyler Junior College 6-4, 7-6.

In the semi-finals of the blue consolation draw Nirvick Mohinta faced Peter Thomason from Tyler Junior College and was handed a 6-3 ,6-4 loss. While teammate Marcus Dornauf had better success in his semi-finals of the orange consolation draw defeating Stratmann from UTSA 6-3, 6-0. Marcus Dornauf continued his winning streak beating Bishop from Tyler Junior College in the consolation finals 6-4, 6-2.
Brett Bernstein and Aswin Vijayaragavan stepped back out on court to play their singles and doubles finals. Brett Bernstein dominated the orange singles draw squashing Roessle from Tyler Junior College in the finals 6-4, 6-1. Aswin Vijayaragavan played a tough match in the finals facing Carvalho for Laredo Community College. Last weekend Aswin Vijayaragavan beat Carvalho in two sets, however this weekend Calvalho had the upper hand and won 7-6, 5-7, 6-3.
Brett Bernstein and Aswin Vijayaragavan stepped on the roadrunner courts one the last time to play their doubles finals against Morgado and Ayala from UTSA. The Bronc pair played a close doubles match, but came up short in the tie-breaker as they were handed a 9-8(5) loss by the roadrunners.
"I am so proud of the men this weekend, I think they did an outstanding job by representing our school at the UTSA Invite" said assistant coach, Silke Buksik, "I think they are more then ready for regionals in two weeks."
The Broncs will compete again at regionals hosted by Texas A&M University in College Station (October 24).
