EDINBURG, TX--The University of Texas-Pan American men's Tennis team will head to College Station, Texas to compete in the Wilson/ITA Texas Regional Tournament hosted by Texas A&M University. The tournament will begin on Saturday (Oct. 24) and will include many of the top Division I tennis student-athletes in Texas.
Beau Bernstein (Stephen F. Austin HS/Sugar Land, TX), Brett Bernstein (Stephen F. Austin HS/Sugar Land, TX), Marcus Dornauf (Scotch Oakburn College Prep/East Launceston, Tasmania, Aus), Nirvick Mohinta (University of New Orleans/Calcutta, West Bengal, India), Abdelhamid Riani (Lycee Sportif Pierre de Coubertin/Sousee, Tunisia) and Aswin Vijayaragavan (Kenedy Vidya Bhavan HS/Andhrapradesh, India) will compete in both singles and doubles.
The Broncs are coming off a solid performance in their second tournament of the season at the UTSA Invite last week where the Broncs won the main draw finals, the consolation finals and finished strong in the doubles finals as well.
"We've been looking forward to the regional tournament. The guys are playing some solid tennis right now so everyone is excited to get on the court and see what we can do this year," said head coach Chris Taylor.
The field of teams that will take part in the four-day event include Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Rice, Texas Tech, Lamar, UTSA, Texas-Arlington, Centenary, SMU, TCU, Louisiana-Lafayette, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, and Prairie View.
The first day of competition for the squad will be on Saturday (Oct. 24) and then continue throughout the weekend at College Station, Texas.
