The University of Texas-Pan American men's tennis program will hit the road as they travel to Austin to compete in the Texas Invitational hosted by The University of Texas at Austin on Friday (Oct. 31).
The Texas Invitational will be a three-day event which will include two singles draws and one doubles draw.
Competing in the "A" Draw Top Half is Brett Bernstein who will face Dmitry Novikov out of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 8:30 a.m. with teammate Aswin Vijayaragavan facing Josh Zavala from the University of Texas at Austin at 8:30 a.m. and Nirvick Mohinta going up against Richard Filkula out of Lamar University at 8:30 a.m. as well.
In the "B" Draw, Beau Bernstein will face the winner between Duncan MacDonald-Korth (Oregon) and Spenser Tiller (UTSA). Shashank Vij will face Gonzalo Bienzobas from the University of Texas-Arlington at 9:50 a.m. and Marcus Dornauf will compete against David Pace from TAMUCC at 11:10 a.m.
In doubles' play, Beau Bernstein and Vij will go up against Colin Hoover and Marcus Lunt from Texas A&M with match time scheduled for 6:20 p.m. Mohinta and Vijayaragavan will face Brieuc Hamon and Adam Srkala from UTA at 5:00 p.m. and Brett Bernstein and Dornauf will match up against Mindaugas Celedinas and Dmitry Minkin from UTA at 4:20 p.m.
The field for the Texas Invitational includes teams from the University of Texas, Texas A&M, Rice, Marquette, Portland, Denver, Lamar, Texas-Arlington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, St. Edward's, Oregon, and UTPA.
The three-day event will begin on Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center in Austin, Texas.
