Indoor - Competed in two meets during the indoor season...finished 11th in the weight throw at the Houston Indoor Invitational with a throw of 47-5.25...at the Bayou Classic, finished 13th in the weight throw with a throw of 44-9.75...Outdoor - recorded 15 top-10 finishes in the outdoor season... had his best finish in the shot put with a seventh-place finish at the Texas Twilight with a toss of 40-8...finished sixth in the discus with a toss of 136-6 at the Javelina Invitational...in his first two meets, finished with all top-10 finishes...recorded his best throw in the hammer throw at the Texas Twilight with a throw of 146-0...finished fourth in the hammer throw at the Javelina Invitational with a throw of 139-1...earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors.

McAllen High School
Barrera was a three-year letterman in track and field and a two-year letterman in football for the McHi Bulldogs...earned Honorable Mention accolades twice in football...finished third at regionals in track and was a state alternate.
