Indoor - The Mercedes, TX native participated in four meets during the indoor season...earned his best time of 4:43.94 in the mile at the Texas A&M Invitational for a 29th place finish...clocked a time of 8:53.22 in the 3,000-meter run at the Great West Conference Championships...posted a sixth place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:30.16 at the Great West Conference Championships...ran a 9:18.50 in the 3,000-meter run at the UH All-Comers Meet for an 18th place finish...Outdoor - posted an eighth place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the Victor Lopez Bayou Classic with a time of 15:26.72.

2008 Season
Cross Country - Najera competed in five meets in his first season donning the Bronc green and orange...posted four top-10 finishes...placed fifth at the HBU/Puma Cross Country Invitational (5K) with a time of 15:27...earned a sixth place finish at the Great West Conference Championships (8K)(26:15.6) en route to helping his team capture the inaugural GWC Championship...recorded a pair of eighth place finishes at the Ricardo Romo/Six Flags Fiesta Texas Classic (5K) with a time of 16:53.0 and at the New Balance Islander Splash (8K) with a time of 26:18.

South Texas for Health Professionals
Najera was a two-year letterman in cross country and track and field...earned a third-place finish at the regionals cross country meet...placed third in the 3,200-meter run at regionals during the track and field season...finished third overall at the state meet in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:20.0.
