Outdoor - The UTPA junior notched his best finish of the outdoor track and field season at the Border Olympics where he finished fifth overall with a time of 50.53 in the 400-meter dash... recorded three top-10 finishes this season, including a 10th-place finish at the Texas Invitational with a time of 50.99 in the 400-meter dash... Indoor - Sanchez finished 13th overall at the Wes Kittley Invitational with a time of 51.68 in the 400-meter dash... earned a 15th-place finish at the Wes Kittley Six-Way with a time of 23.20 in the 200-meter dash.
2005
Outdoor - Sanchez placed second overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.24 at the Border Olympics... posted a fifth-place finish of 49.73 in the 400-meter dash at the Rice Twilight... finished fourth overall with a time of 51.18 in the 400-meter dash at the Angela Proctor Classic... Indoor - The UTPA sophomore finished 35th overall with a time of 53.37 in the 400-meter dash at the Houston Indoor Invitational.
2004
Outdoor - Sanchez won his first outdoor individual championship in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.08 at the Rice/Bayou Classic... recorded four top-five finished during his freshman season... was fourth overall with a time of 11.14 in the 100-meter dash at the Angela Proctor Classic... finished fifth overall with a time of 22.81 in the 200-meter dash at the Border Olympics... Indoor - Sanchez competed at the Houston/RunSport All-Comers Invitational where he finished with a time of 54.22 in the 400-meter dash.
Edward P. York High School
A product of Edward P. York High School, Sanchez was a member of the Belize National Track and Field team during his prep days... received a Certificate of Excellence from the Governor - General for his efforts on the track... recorded his personal-best time of 49.68 in the 400-meter dash... won the long jump and finished second overall in the triple jump at the Central American Junior Games.
Off the Track
Sanchez is the son of Michael and Delarai Sanchez... had two brothers - Michael and Daniel - and one sister - Michelle... was born on Oct. 28, 1985... majoring in psychology.
