1. What are your goals for this season?
DS - "My goals for this year are to reach regionals and to just have a good year."
2. How did you begin running track?
DS - "My father was the head coach of the Belize National Team."
3. What goes through your head as you prepare for a race, during, and after a race?
DS - "Before a race I just try to clear my head and forget what I've done before. During a race I think about whether I can push myself harder or if I need to let up a little."
4. What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome?
DS - "My senior year of high school, I was hit by a car. Coming back from that was probably my biggest challenge."
5. What is your most memorable moment on the track?
DS - "When I was 16 I won the gold medal in the long jump at the Central American National Games. To stand on the podium and hear my national anthem play was amazing."
6. Is running sprints more mental or physical and why?
DS - "It's both, you have to find a balance. If you don't have one, it's not going to work out."
7. Who has had the biggest impact on your life and why?
DS - "My brother. Growing up, I always followed him and wanted to be better than him."
8. What is the single best thing about being a collegiate runner?
DS - "Having teammates who become like family."
9. What is one thing that goes into track & field that the average person wouldn't understand?
DS - "I would say being so tired that it feels like an out-of-body experience."
10. Coming from Belize, how did you discover UTPA?
DS - "My sister-in-law told me about UTPA.

DS - I haven't had it yet.
2. What was the last book you read for pleasure?
DS - Shame
3. What is the first thing you pack before going on a road trip?
DS - My uniform.

DS - Dance Hall 2000

DS - I don't remember, it's been a long time.

DS - Coach Carter
7. What was the last job you held that you absolutely regretted?
DS - My current job as a receptionist.
8. What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning?
DS - I try to get out of bed.
9. What was the first concert you ever attended?
DS - It was a gospel concert. The band was called Heavenlies.

DS - I can't think of one.

DS - In the Dominican Republic at the Pan-American Games in 2003.

DS - Marion Jones Track Complex in Belize City.

DS - I would probably be a full-time trainer at Cornerstone Fitness.
