The University of Texas-Pan American men and women's track and field program heads off to Houston, Texas once again for the 26th Annual Victor Lopez/Rice Bayou Classic held this Friday and Saturday hosted by Rice University.

"Both teams have been looking really good; they're looking like a complete team," said head men and women's track and field coach Dennis Darling.

With four weeks into the outdoor season, the men and women's track and field program already have two Broncs qualified for regionals - one more than last season.

"I think Vanessa (Brown) and Jameson (Strachan) have a good chance in qualifying for regionals in this meet. They've been doing great these past couple meets," added Darling.

The 26th Annual Victor Lopez/Rice Bayou Classic will be held at the Rice Track Stadium with numerous high schools and universities from across Texas attending the meet. Collegiate running events will begin late Friday afternoon at 7:45 p.m. with field events occurring sporadically throughout the day.
