Outdoor -Castillo recorded his best finish of the season at the Tom Tellez Invitational where he finished eight overall with a time of 16:51.88 in the 5,000-meter race... placed 10th overall at the Texas Twilight with a time of 4:32.06 in the 1,500-meter race... crossed the end line in 12th place at the Texas Invitational with a time of 9:51.40 in the 3,000-meter race... placed 15th overall at the Bobcat Open with a time of 9:40.92 in the 3,000-meter race... Indoor - Castillo competed in three meets during the indoor track and field season... finished 13th overall with a time of 9:58.38 at the UH/RunSport All-Comers Meet in the 3,000-meter race... collected 15th place honors at the University of Houston Invitational in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 17:04.03... placed 20th overall at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational with a time of 17:35.44 in the 5,000-meter race.

2006
Outdoor - Castillo recorded his best finish of the season at the Houston Invitational where he finished 11th overall with a time of 4:28.62 in the 1,500-meter race... crossed the end line in 23rd place at the Texas Twilight with a time of 4:31.06 in the 1,500-meter race... finished 28th overall in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:25.86 at the Rice/Bayou Classic... Classroom - Castillo was selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in his career... was a Bronc Pride 3.0 Club member during both the fall and spring semesters.

High School
A Rio Grande Valley product, Castillo attended Hanna High School where he earned three letters - two in cross country and one in track and field.

Castillo is the son of Gilbert and Alicia Castillo... was born on Oct. 29, 1985... majoring in communications.
