2008-09 Season [Freshman]
In her first season as a Lady Bronc, Garza appeared in 11 contests while earning a spot on the starting lineup on three occasions - Chicago State (Jan. 31), Long Beach State (Feb. 14) and Cal State-Bakersfield (Feb. 17)...scored a season-high six points on 3-of-4 shooting from the field versus Long Beach State (Feb.14) while also posting her only assist of the season...finished 1-for-2 from the charity stripe against Chicago State (Jan. 31) along with three boards, which tied her season-high...also grabbed three rebounds against Cal State-Bakersfield (Feb. 17)...notched two steals versus Chicago State (Jan. 31)...ranked seventh amongst the team in field-goal percentage (.391); 12th in free throw percentage (.500), points scored (19) and points per game (1.7)...concluded her freshman campaign with 1.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game...earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors.

Garza was a three-year letterman in track & field and a four-year letterman in basketball...received Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All-State Player/All-Star accolades during her senior campaign...received Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGAC) All-State Player/All-Star accolades as a senior...was honored with TABC All-Region accolades during her junior tenure...was Rio Grande Valley All-Valley during her junior and senior campaign...was the 30-5A District MVP during her senior season...was part of a team that was 30-5A All-District during her sophomore, junior and senior campaign...had her jersey retired at McAllen HS.

Garza is the daughter of Luis and Martha Garza...father - Luis - played basketball for North Harris County College...has one brother - Luis, Jr...one sister - Christy...born on July 29,1990...majoring in communication disorders.
