The University of Texas-Pan American women's golf program placed second at the UTPA Golf Classic this Tuesday (Nov. 3) afternoon at the Los Lagos Golf Club in Edinburg, Texas.
"The women went out there on their home course in hopes of capturing the win, but they fell short. This was a reality check for the girls and hopefully it will get us highly prepared for conference," said Director of Men's and Women's Golf Ofelia Lopez.
"Now we know what we are up against and what we have to face. We just need to go out hard from day one so this doesn't happen again."
The Lady Broncs concluded the UTPA Golf Classic with four of the women in the top-10. Sophomore Majo Camey was the Lady Broncs top performer as she finished four strokes behind first with a 15-over-par 231 (77-75-79).
Down one spot from yesterday, Sarah Kothny finished with a 22-over-par 238 (79-79-80) for a fifth place finish. Up one spot from yesterday was Haley Hocott, who finished sixth, with a 23-over-par 239 (80-80-79).
