Boychuk Earns Academic District VI At-Large Honors

June 2, 2005

University of Texas-Pan American women's golfer Nikki Boychuk (Conroe, TX/Willis H.S.) was cited with ESPN The Magazine All-District VI Women's At-Large Second Team Honors, which was announced on Thursday (June 2).

Boychuk earned UTPA Dean's List First Honors twice during her junior campaign as she accumulated a perfect 4.0 grade point average in both the fall and spring semesters. She was honored with Who's Who Among Student in American Universities and College this past year and earned an invitation to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll. The Lady Broncs junior also earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club laurels for the sixth consecutive semester.

The Conroe, TX, native finished in the top 20 in six of the Lady Broncs' nine matches this past year, including a season-best second-place ranking at the 2005 National Minority College Golf Championships held in Port St. Lucie, FL. She was seventh overall at the UTPA Bronc Classic and 11th at the CenturyTel Texas State Invitational.

A total of 75 student-athletes were nominated for the award, which was voted on by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The twelve student-athletes that earned first team honors advanced to the national ballot while eight student-athletes garnered second team accolades.
