The University of Texas-Pan American women's golf team wrapped up the first day of action at the North Texas Women's Golf Classic at Robson Ranch in Dallas, TX.
Led by junior Mariale Camey (Ciudad, Guatemala/University of New Orleans), the Lady Broncs shot a 308 (+20) good for a ninth-place tie with North Texas and UC - Riverside. Camey is currently in first place with a round score of 71 (36-35).
Bronwyn Sandberg (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada/Bellerose Composite) posted an 18-hole tally of 76 (38-38) on the first day of the tournament en route to tying for 19th overall while Rebecca De Leon (Mission, TX/Veterans Memorial H.S.) finished with a tally of 78 (37-41), tying for 35th overall at the North Texas Golf Classic.
Elizabeth Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood H.S.) posted a one-round tally of 83 (42-41) on the first day of competition en route to finishing 69th overall, while Haley Hocott finished with a round score of 85 (44-41), tying for 75th overall.
Oklahoma City University holds the team lead after one round of competition with a team score of 299 while Sam Houston State (300), Florida International (303), UTSA (304) and Lamar University rounded off the top five.
The Lady Broncs will be back in action as the North Texas Women's Golf Classic resumes for the final round tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Robson Ranch.
