The University of Texas-Pan American women's golf team finished 10th overall at the North Texas Women's Golf Classic hosted by North Texas University in Dallas, TX, on Tuesday (Sept. 11).
Junior Mariale Camey (Ciudad, Guatemala/University of New Orleans) was the Lady Broncs top golfer during the two-round tournament as she finished 11th overall with a two-round score of 152 (71-81).
Bronwyn Sandberg (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada/ Bellerose Composite) finished 37th overall with a two-round score of 158 (76-52) while UTPA sophomore Rebecca De Leon (Mission, TX/Veterans Memorial H.S.) recorded a 46th-place showing with a tournament score of 159 (78-81).
Senior Elizabeth Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood H.S.) placed 47th overall with a 54-hole score of 159 (83-76) and Haley Hocott concluded her first tournament of the season in 77th place with a two-round score of 174 (85-89).
Oklahoma City University was able to claim the title with a two-round score of 609 while Sam Houston State (609), Southern Illinois (613), Fla. International (616) and Cal Pony (619) rounded out the top-five at the North Texas Women's Golf Classic.
The Lady Broncs will be back on golf course on September 24-25 as UTPA travels to Louisiana, LA for the Fred Marx Invitational hosted by Louisiana Monroe.
