The University of Texas-Pan American women's golf team finished in seventh place out of 15 teams on the first day of the ORU Shootout hosted by Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK on Monday (Oct. 1).
Leading the way for the Lady Broncs is Mission native Rebecca De Leon (Mission, TX/Veterans Memorial H.S.) who fired a two-round tally of 153 (78-75) en route to finishing tied for ninth overall on the first day of tournament action.
Newcomer Haley Hocott (San Antonio, TX/MacArthur H.S.) is currently tied for 35th place with a two-round score of 161 (84-77) while Bronwyn Sandberg (St. Albert, Alberta, Canada/ Bellerose Composite) posted a 162 (81-81) tying her for 39th overall at the Oral Roberts Shootout.
Mariale Camey (Ciudad, Guatemala/University of New Orleans) posted a 36 hole tally of 163 (85-78) tying for 46th place while senior Elizabeth Rodriguez (Kingwood, TX/Kingwood H.S.) collected a two-round tally of 163 (82-81) tying for 46th overall.
Oral Roberts University currently holds the team lead after two rounds of competition with a team score of 615 while Louisiana Monroe (618), Sam Houston State (620), Texas A&M Corpus Christi (620) and Missouri State (625) round off the top five.
The Lady Broncs will be back on the green tomorrow at 8 a.m. for the final round of the ORU Shootout hosted by Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK.
