After two rounds of play at the Lady Red Wolf Classic, the women's golf team stands in ninth place this Monday (Oct. 12) afternoon at the Jonesboro Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Junior Haley Hocott had the best day for the Lady Broncs as she finished day one with a two-round score of 153 (77-76) as she stands in a tie for eighth.
Rebecca De Leon posted a two-round score of 164 (85-79) as she tied for 40th, while Majo Camey and Sarah Kothny finished with a one stroke difference as Camey posted a 165 (84-81) and Kothny a 166 (86-80).
"We didn't play a very well first round and we didn't stick to our game plan, which got in our own way," said Director of Men's and Women's Golf Ofelia Lopez.
"We came back in the second round because we fought and played hard, but tomorrow we are planning to play with pride and determination to go out and play like winners and not be afraid."
With UTPA in ninth-place, Arkansas State (612) leads the field, while Murray State (620) stands in second and Troy (629), South Alabama (629) and Memphis (629) stand in a tie for third.
The Lady Broncs wrap up the Lady Red Wolf Classic tomorrow morning at 8:30 with a shotgun start at the Jonesboro Country Club.
