2007-08 [Sophomore Season]
Cantu ranked second amongst the Lady Broncs squad as she notched a 17-5 record in singles and 13 wins in doubles between three different teammates...Cantu finished with a 2-0 record in the number-five spot in the lineup and a 15-5 record in the number-six spot in the rotation... won the last nine matches of the season...of the last nine victories, four were against Southland Conference-foes in Corrine Langston of Oral Roberts, Eva Silvester of UTSA, Salina Aranda of Lamar and Inga Efimenko of McNeese State...when teamed up with Stephanie Willerding notched an 11-9 record in the number-three spot in the rotation...of the last 10 matches, won seven of them, including wins over San Jose State, McNeese State, New Mexico State, UTSA, Prairie View A&M, UTEP and Oral Roberts...grabbed a win in the only match with teammate Julia Cirne-Lima against Oral Roberts...notched another lone win with teammate Giana Oliveira against Prairie View A&M...garnered First Team All-Independent Singles' Team and First Team All-Independent Doubles' Team.
2006-07 [Freshman Season]
The UTPA freshman won the first four singles' matches of her career at the number-six position for the Lady Broncs during the 2006-07 season... collected victories over Nicholls State, Prairie View A&M, Connecticut and Stephen F. Austin... notched her first collegiate singles' victory in a three-set triumph over Nichole September of Nicholls State by scores of 6-0, 6-7 and 6-2... collected a straight-set victory over Ashley Petruzzi of Connecticut by scores of 6-3 and 6-3... recorded a straight-set victory over Jordan Short of Central Arkansas by a 6-0, 6-0 decision in the season finale for the Lady Broncs... captured her first career doubles' victory with teammate Stephanie Willerding against Adeline Vallet and Sara Hanesch of Nicholls State by a 9-7 count... recorded a 2-3 record at the number-two position with Willerding and a 1-1 record at the top-flight of doubles' competition with Giana Oliveira... defeated Laura Harrison and Roxana Enica of Stephan F. Austin with Oliveira in the number-one position by an 8-5 score... selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in her career... garnered Dean's List Second Honors during both the fall and spring semesters... cited as a Bronc Pride 3.0 Club member in the fall and spring semester.
Colegio Jose de Escandon
Cantu was the state champion in tennis on three occasions during her prep career at Colegio Jose de Escandon, including winning back-to-back titles during the 1999 and 2000 seasons... graduated third in her class with a 4.06 grade point average... was a member of Club Britania and Centro de Alto Rondimiento.

Cantu is the daughter of Ramiro and Alejandra Cantu... has one brother - Ramiro - and one sister - Alejandra... born on May 30, 1988... majoring in international business.
