With 11 matches remaining on the 2007-08 schedule, The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis program is on the path to recording one of the best seasons since the 89-90 campaign.
As a team, the Lady Broncs are currently 9-6 overall surpassing their win total of a year ago.
Senior captain, Silke Buksik is coming up big in her final season in a Lady Broncs uniform collecting a 13-2 singles' record and a 12-3 record in doubles' action with teammate Megan Bedeau.
This past weekend the Lady Broncs went 1-1 recording a win in Prairie View, TX against Prairie View A&M and dropping a 6-1 decision to nationally-ranked program Rice University on Saturday (Mar. 8).
Against the Panthers, tandem Silke Buksik and Megan Bedeau collected an 8-3 win over Melissa Guerrier and Jessica Aguilar in the number-two flight and followed that performance with a hard-fought 8-4 win over Tiffany Lee and Rebecca Lin of Rice in the number-two flight.
The Lady Broncs will face-off against the Golden Eagles who are coming off a 7-0 setback over OU on Saturday (Mar. 1).
The Lady Broncs will look to capture their 10th victory of the season when they welcome Summit League-foe Oral Roberts University to the Orville Cox Tennis Center on Friday (Mar. 14) with match-time set for 10:00 a.m. The Lady Broncs will then face the UTEP Miners (7-4) on Saturday (Mar. 15) at noon following a match on Sunday (Mar. 16) against Southland Conference-foe UTSA at 11:00 a.m.
