Silke Buksik (Waiblingen, Germany/Salier-Gymnasium Waiblingen) represented The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis team on the Academic All-Independent list that was announced on Thursday (Jun 7).

Buksik became the two-time All-Academic award winner as the UTPA junior has posted 3.81 cumulative grade point average in international business management. The junior concluded her junior campaign with a 9-9 singles record and an 11-4 record for the Lady Broncs in the doubles' competition.

The Division 1 Independent Women's Tennis All-Academic team was selected by sports information directors at member institutions. Nominations from each school were accepted for student-athletes who had at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and had reached a sophomore athletic standing.
