The University of Texas-Pan American Lady Broncs played in both singles and doubles finals today at the Islander Open.

"It was a long weekend for the girls, but both Malin Andersen and Andrea Salvetova played hard today in their matches," said assistant coach Silke Buksik.

Malin Andersen faced Lamar player in the finals of the women's consolation singles draw this morning in Corpus Christi. Malin Andersen fought through her match to take the win at 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles Malin Andersen and Andrea Salvetova from The University of Texas-Pan American faced Megan Harless and Mirna Cicak from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in the main draw doubles finals this afternoon. Malin Andersen and Andrea Salvetova struggled through the match but came up short losing 8-3.

"Overall the doubles was good this weekend, but the girls struggled in the finals missing returns and playing a little timid. We know what we have to work on to be stronger in doubles to make us ready for our next tournament," added Buksik.
