The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis program struggled at the ITA regionals this year. The Lady Broncs played all day Friday (Oct. 16) and Saturday (Oct. 17) and lost out of the qualifying of the singles draw and main draw of doubles.

The women played some tough teams this weekend and finished the day with doubles. Reetta Raty and Luisa Cantu stepped on court to play their doubles match against Maria Martinez-Romero and Monika Hadvigerova from the University of Texas-Arlington, but were defeated 8-0.

Megan Bedeau and Sarah Burton received a bye first round of doubles as their opponents retired. In the second round Bedeau and Burton faced Elizabeth Ullathorne and Kelsey Garland from Texas Tech University and dropped 8-1.

"As a team we were there for each other and supported each other in our matches. We did not play our best tennis, but we still went out with a positive attitude and played our hardest", said team captain, Megan Bedeau

The Lady Broncs are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 31) in San Marcos, Texas to play a tournament at Texas State University.
