Indoor - Competed in three meets during the indoor season...earned a 14th place finish at the Bayou Classic with a height of 10-2...Outdoor - recorded her personal best at the Texas State Open with a height of 11.7-75 for a second-place finish...notched a second-place finish at the Border Olympics with a height of 11-0.0...jumped a height of 10-0.0 at the Texas Invitational for a 15th place finish and at the Javelina Invitational for a third-place finish.

2007 Season
Outdoor - Shannon recorded four top-10 finishes during the outdoor track and field season... tied her personal-best at the Tom Tellez Invitational with a height of 10-6 en route to finishing fifth overall... placed seventh overall in the pole vault with a height of 10-6 at the Texas Twilight... finished ninth overall at the Border Olympics in the pole vault with a height of 10-0... collected ninth place honors in the pole vault with a height of 10-6 at the Texas Invitational... Indoor - Shannon appeared in two meets during the indoor track and field season... finished seventh overall at Leonard Hilton Memorial in the pole vault with a height of 10-6... collected 10th place laurels with a height of 10-0 in the pole vault at the UH/Run Sport All-Comers Meet.

2006 Season
Outdoor - The UTPA freshman posted three of the best jumps in program history in her first outdoor track and field season... broke the program record on two occasions during the season with a height of 10-6 at the Texas Twilight and Houston Invitational, respectively... finished sixth overall at the Border Olympics with a leap of 10-1, which was the fifth-best jump in program history... Classroom - Shannon was selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in her career... earned Dean's List Second Honors during both the fall and spring semesters... selected to the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club in each of her first two semesters.

High School
Shannon earned nine letters during her prep career at Spring Woods High School... selected team captain of the swimming team during her senior campaign... qualified for the regional championships in the 200-medley relay that season... selected as the Most Valuable Defensive Player on the soccer team during her final campaign.

Off the Track
Shannon is the daughter of Jon and Diana Shannon... has three brothers - Jon, Keith and Matthew - and one sister - Julie... was born on Oct. 17, 1986... majoring in kinesiology... chose UTPA over Hawaii, Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
