Feb. 8, 2008

The University of Texas-Pan American men and women's track and field program will be heading back to Yeoman Field House at the University of Houston for the Bayou Classic this Saturday (Feb. 9).

"I feel that our men and women's team will do great at the Bayou Classic. From their performances last week, I think it'll carry on to this week," said head men and women's track and field coach Dennis Darling.

This meet will replace the UH/ RunSport All-Comers meet scheduled for next weekend and will be the last indoor meet before the USA Indoor Championships.

"All those that were feeling a bit down about their performances these past weekends are feeling a bit more confident. I feel that the field events will be performing better this weekend and the sprinters and distance runners will continue doing well," added Darling.

The Bayou Classic hosted by The University of Houston will begin with field events at 8:00 a.m. and running events beginning at 12:30 p.m.
