1. What's the biggest difference that you've found in your performances and training from your freshman season to this point as a sophomore?
DM - "I think that it's been the level of training and experience from my first year."
2. What are your goals for the upcoming outdoor track and field season?
DM - "I want to break the school record in the 100-meter dash and qualify for regionals."
3. You came to the Rio Grande Valley from the Virgin Islands, how did that come about?
DM - "Coach (Marisa) Robinson knew my old sprint coach, and met at a meet in San Antonio where he told her about me."
4. How did you first get involved in track and field?
DM - "I got started when I was about seven years old just participating in school events."
5. In your eyes, are the sprint events more mental or physical?
DM - "It's definitely more mental. For me being injured, I can feel it on the track in practice, and I just have to push through it."
6. What are your thoughts before, during and after each race?
DM - "Before the race, I think about how I am going to run it. I really go blank during the race, and sometimes I don't even stick to my plan. After the race, I'll talk with the coaches and see what I did and what I didn't do."
7. During the indoor season, you broke the school record in both the 55-meter and 60-meter dash events. Was that one of your goals coming into the season or is it something that just happened through great training and preparation?
DM - "It really just happened because it was my first indoor meet."
8. What is the one thing about the sprinting events that the normal, everyday person wouldn't understand?
DM - "I think that it's the mechanics that goes into sprints. From the drive base to the transition to being relaxed towards the finish line, there are a lot of minor details that goes into a race."
9. How much of a difference is there between competing in the indoor season to the outdoor season?
DM - "There really isn't that much of a difference in actually competing, but probably the surface of the track is different. I like the indoor tracks better because it has a better surface to me."
10. Who has been a major impact in your life?
DM - "My momma because she always reminds me to stay focused, and that I am here for purpose. She never lets me quit."

DM - I don't have my license.

DM - Coach Vaughn would be played by Samuel L. Jackson... Coach Cunningham would be played by Jim Carey and an actor that is quiet would play Coach Ybarra.
