The University of Texas-Pan American men and women's track and field program brought home top finishes from the Texas Relays held this past week at the Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

In the men's 800M run, Gilroy Martinez finished 12th with a time of 1:53.41.

Senior Luis Nava had an impressive showing with an 11th place finish in the 5000M run with a time of 15:03.19 and a sixth place finish anchoring the men's distance medley relay team with a finishing time of 10:07.72.

J.J. Hernandez brought home an eighth place finish in the 3000M steeplechase with a time of 9:26.27.

On the women's side, sophomore Carolina Izaguirre finished fourth in the 5000M run with a time of 17:40.77 making that her second best time of the season.

The women's 4x100M relay team brought home a 27th place finish with a time of 47.50 breaking their season best of 47.93.

The 4x400M relay finished in 15th place with a time of 3:49.37 making that time their best of the season as well.

The men and women's track and field program will hit the track next Saturday (April 12) at the Javelina Open hosted by Texas A&M - Kingsville.
