2007-08 Seasons [Phoenix College]
In her first season with the Bears, Gonzalez was named Second Team All-ACCAC, while earning First Team Division II All-Region honors...was a NJCAA All-American nominee...ranked first in assists in the region...finished in the top five in the nation in assists (D-II)...made the NJCAA All-Team Tournament...in her sophomore season, Gonzalez earned First Team All-ACCAC...earned First Team Division II All-Region honors...was a NJCAA All-American nominee...for the second time in her career ranked first in assists in her region...ranked top-10 in assists in the nation (D-II)...in her freshman campaign, competed in 120 games in 38 matches...holds the Phoenix College record in assists in a season with 1,360 (11.33 assists per game)...recorded 342 digs (2.85 digs per game) during her freshman campaign...finished with 125 kills (1.04 kills per game) in her first season...finished with a .168 hitting percentage (125-45-476)...member of the conference champion team in 2007...helped lead her squad to a fourth place finish at the NJCAA Division II Tournament.
High School
Gonzalez was a four-year letterman in volleyball and a one-year letter winner in soccer and softball...during her volleyball campaign at Cesar Chavez High School, Gonzalez earned 5A All-State honorable mention honors in 2004 and 2007...was a two-time Metro Region First Team All-Region selection (2003 and 2007)...earned back-to-back Metro Region MVP honors (2005 and 2006)...named Gatorade Player of the Year in 2005...named Rookie of the Year in softball in 2003...named Metro Region First Team All-Region outfielder in 2003 and 2004...member of the Metro Region Champions team in 2004 and 2007...during her junior year, went undefeated with a record of 18-0...member of the French Club and was the senior class secretary.
Off the Court
Gonzalez is the daughter of Trinidad and Rita Gonzalez...born on Jan. 28, 1989...has three brothers - Hugo, Oscar and Ruben...two sisters - Magie and Maria...brother - Hugo - played two years at Phoenix College...majoring in biology.
