Angela Hubbard begins her third season as the head women's volleyball coach at The University of Texas-Pan American.

Hubbard became the youngest NCAA Division I head women's volleyball coach in the country after being named the program's fourth head coach.

After coming off the greatest season in the program's history, Hubbard suffered an 8-18 (.308) setback in her second season at the helm. Although the Lady Broncs had a rough start, Hubbard was able to lead her squad to a 3-1 victory over No. 79 Missouri State at Missouri.

At season's end, Hubbard had eight members earn Great West Fall All-Academic Team along with nine earning Dean's List Honors, seven earning Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors and two make 4.0's in the fall and five in the spring semesters.

In her first season with the Lady Broncs, Hubbard recorded the best record for a first season head coach in the program's history. She finished her first season with a 15-18 overall record with a 3-1 mark at the UTPA Fieldhouse and a 12-17 mark on the road.

She also led her squad to their first tournament title in four years at the Lady Panther Invitational and guided two of her Lady Broncs in breaking the program's records in all-time assists and kills. Chelsea Blakely broke a 10-year record and became the all-time assists leader with 3,205 assists, while Kellie Phillips reached the 1,000th kill mark and finished the 2007 campaign with 1,128 kills ranking her fourth in the record books.

At the end of her inaugural season, Hubbard led four of her Lady Broncs to post-season accolades as Kellie Phillips was selected as a second team All-Independent team member ranking first in total attacks among all NCAA Division I Independent players, third in kills and seventh in service aces. Chelsea Blakely, Marci Logan and Rebecca Toddy all earned honorable mention All-Independent honors for their efforts during the 2007 campaign.

That same season, the Lady Broncs were the proud recipients of the 2007-08 AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) Team Academic Award; the Lady Broncs achieved and maintained a 3.3 grade point average throughout the 2007-08 season despite having 29 road matches throughout the fall semester.

Prior to joining the Bronc family, the UTPA head women's volleyball coach came to the Rio Grande Valley from Nicholls State University, a member of the Southland Conference, where Hubbard served as the assistant coach during the 2006 campaign.

In her time with the Colonials, Hubbard served as the Recruiting Coordinator while holding down responsibilities for on-floor coaching, scouting, film breakdown, tape exchange, conditioning, game management, travel and other administrative duties. In her one season, Hubbard helped the Nicholls State women's volleyball program improve by eight matches.

Hubbard helped the success of former Colonial outside hitter Atina Porter, who finished her senior season with 507 kills - an average of 4.74 per game - which led the Southland Conference. Porter was cited with numerous honors under the guidance of Hubbard. In addition to her responsibilities, Hubbard assisted in conducting summers camps and coach's clinics while assisting in the direction of several setter/hitter and skills clinics. The former Colonials' assistant coach worked several summer camps at the University of Alabama, University of South Alabama, University of Tennessee-Martin and University of West Georgia.

Prior to joining the coaching staff at Nicholls State, Hubbard served as the assistant coach at the University of Tennessee-Martin during the 2005 season. During her tenure with Skyhawks, Hubbard served as the defensive specialist coach under her former collegiate coach Amy Draper.

Hubbard also served as the assistant coach under Draper at the University of West Georgia - an NCAA Division II program in the Gulf South Conference - where she held responsibilities on the defensive side of the net. In her first season with the Wolves, West Georgia went to the Gulf South Conference Tournament for the first time in 16 years.

As an assistant coach at the University of West Georgia, Hubbard played an integral role in several members of the Wolves attaining post-season awards and accolades following the conclusion of the 2004 season. The Wolves had six players earned conference Player of the Week laurels; three players earn All-Gulf South Conference honors; and the GSC Freshman of the Year.

A graduate of the University of West Georgia, Hubbard was the program's starting outside hitter during the 2002 season before switching to the Wolves' libero prior to the 2003 campaign. Hubbard concluded her career with the Wolves ranked eighth on the all-time list with 663 career digs. Hubbard also holds the program record for most digs in a three-game match with 33 against conference-opponent Limestone University during the 2003 season.

Hubbard played two collegiate seasons at Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, TX, where she concluded her sophomore campaign ranked first nationally among all NJCAA players in hitting percentage. She garnered All-American, all-region and all-conference honors during her sophomore campaign at Cedar Valley College where she was also ranked 15th in kills that season en route to leading the program to a fourth-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

In her freshman season at Cedar Valley College, Hubbard earned all-conference honors en route to leading the program to a runner-up finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.

The UTPA head women's volleyball coach earned her bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from the University of West Georgia in 2004. She earned her master's degree in education with an emphasis in human health and performances from the University of Tennessee-Martin in 2006.

Hubbard and her husband, Thomas, along with son Kayden reside in Edinburg.
