2006 [Sophomore Season]
The UTPA sophomore posted career highs in 16 statistical categories, including kills (71), total attacks (247), assists (20) and total blocks (19.0), in her second season with the Lady Broncs... collected a career-high seven kills against Providence (Nov. 11) at the National Independent Tournament... recorded six kills, two digs and a career-high 3.0 blocks against The University of Texas at San Antonio (Oct. 10)... recorded double-digit attacks in 13 matches, including the final five matches of the season... tied a career-high with 18 attacks on two occasions against Texas State (Sept. 1) and The University of Texas at San Antonio (Oct. 10)... notched five matches of five or more kills during the season, including six kills, two assists and two blocks against Texas State (Sept. 1)... collected five kills against both Texas Tech (Sept. 2) and North Dakota State (Nov. 10) at the National Independent Tournament... saw action in a career-high 78 games this past season... collected at least two blocks in six matches this season... recorded 17 total attacks on two occasions against Wyoming (Aug. 26) and Providence (Nov. 11)... posted a .300 hitting percentage against Texas A&M-International (Nov. 7)... concluded the season averaging 0.91 kills per game, 0.26 assists per game, 0.24 blocks per game and 0.18 digs per game.
2005 [Freshman Season]
Young saw action in 15 games during her first season with the Lady Broncs... notched a career-high six kills in 11 total attacks against North Dakota State (Nov. 12) at the National Independent Tournament... finished with a .364 hitting percentage in that match while playing in all three games... added four kills to go along with four blocks and two assists versus Texas State (Oct. 4) in three games... recorded 14 kills, nine blocks, two assists and one digs during her rookie campaign... attempted at least two attacks and one kill in seven of 10 matches that she competed in... posted four matches of at least 1.0 blocks... recorded 0.93 kills per game, 0.60 blocks per game, 0.13 assists per game and 0.07 digs per game... competed in a pair of matches at the National Independent Tournament.
High School
Young served as the team captain for Capital High School during her senior season... cited with the Most Inspirational and Coaches' Award honors that season... was a two-year letterwinner for the Eagles... led the squad in blocks, averaging over two blocks per game, along with five kills and three digs per game... named Most Improved Player award in 2003... guided her squad to a third-place finish at the 2004 district championships... awarded with the Team Scholastic and Sports Medicine Outstanding Student honors... competed with the Boise River Volleyball Club for four years, which is considered one of the top eight teams in Idaho.

Young is the daughter of Dave and Debbie Young... born on December 15, 1986... has one sister - Mindy... majoring in marketing.
