Women's volleyball head coach Angela Hubbard announced the addition of Kameo Pena to the women's volleyball program for the 2009-10 academic campaign.
"We are looking forward to having Kameo join our roster. She comes from a highly competitive program and has had the opportunity to get some great training," said second-year head coach Angela Hubbard. "Kameo will add size and has the ability to play more than one position, which allows for depth in our roster and is great for our future."
Pena joins the Lady Broncs from The University of New Mexico where she red-shirted her freshman campaign under the direction of Jeff Nelson. The Los Lunas, New Mexico native will look to compete for a spot as a middle blocker or play the right side.
"It's great to be joining the Lady Bronc family. I am looking forward to the season and making sure everything I do on and off the court is successful for my team," said Kameo Pena.
The newly-named Lady Bronc attended Los Lunas High School where she was cited as a three-year letter winner in volleyball and basketball. While at Los Lunas High School, Pena earned All-District and All-State honors while being named Second Team All-Academic for volleyball.
Along with her volleyball accolades, Pena earned All-State, All-District and All-Academic honors and was a McDonald All-American nominee during her basketball career at Los Lunas High School.
Pena joins Ijanae Holman, Kaitlin Vasquez, Kristi Garcia, Sarah Davis, Ariana Bermea, Meghan Fichtel and Rita Gonzalez for the 2009-10 academic campaign.
