2010 Broncs Volleyball Schedule

EDINBURG, Texas - University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) Volleyball head coach Angela Hubbard today announced the Broncs' 2010 schedule.

The Broncs will kick off the season by hosting the UTPA Tournament featuring the Idaho State University Bengals, the Lamar University Cardinals and the Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles August 28 and 29 at the UTPA Wellness and Recreational Sports Complex.

UTPA will then hit the road for the first of a pair of tournaments. They will take on Mississippi State, UT-Arlington and the University of Arkansas-Little Rock at the UT-Arlington Hilton Invitational Sept. 3 and 4 hosted by the Mavericks at Texas Hall.

The Broncs will then play their first match in the newly renovated UTPA Fieldhouse against South Texas foe, the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) Islanders Sept. 7.

UTPA will close tournament play at the UTSA Classic Sept. 10 and 11, where the Broncs will take on the UTSA Roadrunners, the Davidson Wildcats and the UTEP Miners.

The Broncs will be back at home Sept. 13 when they host the Texas State Bobcats.

The team will be back on the road for a two-match trip to face Texas Southern Sept. 17, Houston Baptist Sept. 18, before facing Prairie View A&M University at home Monday, Sept. 20.

UTPA will open its second season of Great West Conference (GWC) Oct. 7 at the University of North Dakota, followed by Oct. 8 at the University of South Dakota.

On Thursday, Oct. 14, the Broncs will host Utah Valley University, followed by Chicago State University Saturday, Oct. 16.

Tuesday, Oct. 19, UTPA will travel back up the highway to face the TAMUCC Islanders for a second match, before another pair of home matches Saturday, Oct. 23 against Houston Baptist and Saturday, Oct. 30 versus New Jersey Institute of Technology.

For the second time this season, the Broncs will face Idaho State when they travel to the Bengals home court in Pocatello, Idaho Thursday, Nov. 4. The team will then travel to Orem, Utah to face the Utah Valley Wolverines Friday, Nov. 5, and finish off the road trip with a stop at Prairie View A&M Monday, November 8.

Rounding off GWC play, the Broncs will host South Dakota Thursday, Nov. 11 and North Dakota Saturday, Nov. 13.

This year's GWC tournament will be hosted Nov. 19-21 by Chicago State at the Jacoby D. Dickens Center in Chicago, Ill.
