Outdoor - The UTPA junior posted seven top-five finishes in four separate events during the outdoor track and field season... earned runner-up accolades in the 1,500-meter race with a mark of 4:56.60 in the 1,500 meters... was fourth overall in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:32.47 at the Texas Invitational... earned sixth-place laurels at the Texas Twilight with a mark of 4:50.54 in the 1,500 meters... Indoor - Hernandez earned a top-five finish in three of the four meets that she competed, including third-place laurels at the Wes Kittley Invitational with a time of 11:22.09 in the 3,000 meters... notched fourth-place accolades in the 800-meter race with a mark of 2:27.55 at the Wes Kittley Six-Way... finished fourth overall in the 3,000 meters with a time of 10:35.69 at the UH/RunSport All-Comers Meet... Classroom - Hernandez earned UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the second time in her career... was selected to the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club during the fall and spring semesters... was nominated for UTPA's Female Student-Athlete of the Year.

Cross Country - Hernandez was the first Lady Bronc to cross the finish line at the Rice Invitational with a time of 15:56.24 en route to earning 20th-place laurels... posted a career-best seventh-place finish at the Texas Lutheran Invitational with a time of 24:13.00 in the 6,000-meter race... finished 32nd overall with a time of 23:43.90 at the National Independent Cross Country Championships... Outdoor - The UTPA sophomore competed in the 1,500 meters in five different meets and never placed worse than seventh overall... finished seventh overall at the Texas Invitational with a career-best time of 4:51.63 in the 1,500 meters... earned third place laurels in the 1,500 meters at the Houston Invitational... Indoor - Hernandez placed sixth overall with a time of 5:28.06 in the one-mile race at the Houston Indoor Classic... Classroom - Hernandez was selected to the UTPA Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the first time in her career... was selected to the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club during the fall and spring semesters.

Cross Country - Hernandez recorded her best finish at the Whataburger/UTSA Invitational with a time of 20:54 in the 5,000-meter race... finished 31st overall at the National Independent Cross Country Championships with a time of 18:50 in the 5,000-meter race... placed 87th overall at the NCAA Division I South Central Regional Meet with a mark of 23:34.00 in the 6,000 meters... Outdoor - The UTPA freshman posted a pair of sixth-place finishes at the Border Olympics in the 800- and 1,500-meter races... finished seventh overall in the 1,500-meter race with a time of 5:09.86 at the Angela Proctor Classic... Indoor - Hernandez finished 16th overall in the one-mile race with a time of 5:34.56 at the Houston/RunSport All-Comers Meet.

2003
Cross Country - Hernandez competed at the National Independent Cross Country Championships where she finished 33rd overall.

High School
Hernandez was a three-time regional qualifier and competed at the state meet as a junior... was a two-time MVP award winner for the cross country squad... qualified for the regional meet in the 1,600-meter race during her senior season... earned nine letters during her prep career - three in cross country, track and field and soccer... cited as the Co-Defensive MVP for the soccer team... earned all-area honors as a senior on the soccer field... selected as a Texas Scholar... graduated with A-Honor Roll laurels as well as perfect attendance... received the Superintendent Award.

Hernandez is the daughter of Carlos de la Cruz and Gloria Hernandez... has one brother - Luis - and one sister - Gloria... was born on Aug. 14, 1984... majoring in Spanish with a minor in kinesiology.
