Sophomore Diana Galloso was named Great West Runner of the week for the week of September 21-28.

Galloso helped lead UTPA at the New Balance Islander Splash in Corpus Christi, Texas with a 14th place finish. The sophomore recorded a personal best time of 18:59 as her efforts guided UTPA to a third place team finish. Galloso improved her time by 1:49 since the last time she participated on the three mile Islander Splash.

"I'm very proud of her," said 2nd year Asst. Coach Hugo Cervantes. "She worked very hard all summer and it has shown in her results. This award raisers not only her confidence, but that of the entire team."
