Scott Street begins his second year as the Director of Athletics at The University of Texas-Pan American.

Since taking over the reigns of the UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Street has revitalized the Bronc Athletic Club, which works with friends, family, alumni and advocates of UTPA in order to provide the support necessary to ensure the continual development and improvement of all of the Bronc and Lady Bronc athletic programs.

Another one of Street's main objectives at UTPA was to jumpstart the UTPA Lettermen's Club, which allows former student-athletes an opportunity to rejoin the Bronc and Lady Bronc athletic programs by reconnecting with former teammates as well as a chance to meet the new student-athletes that are representing their alma mater.

Street also has implemented several new fundraising ideas for the UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics that includes the PGA's Birdies-for-Charity and Chip-In for Schools Program as well as supporting the Bronc Basketball Alumni Association in a pair of fundraising events that have raised tens of thousands of dollars for UTPA Athletics.

The UTPA Director of Athletics has also played an important role in the development of the United Basketball Conference - a scheduling alliance with five other NCAA Division I Independent institutions that offers a home-and-away series between each program during the 2006-07 men's and women's basketball seasons. A main goal for Street since he was named the Director of Athletics has been to get UTPA into a conference, and the UBC is a firm first-step into realizing that ultimate goal.

During his tenure as Director of Athletics, Street has hired three department directors as well as three head coaches, which has revitalized the UTPA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and has strengthened the support staff for its student-athletes.

Prior to coming to the Rio Grande Valley, Street was already familiar with South Texas and the UT System as he spent the seven years at The University of Texas at San Antonio, including serving as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration since 2002. Prior to that post, he held the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Services from 1999-02.

Along with his day-to-day responsibilities, Street oversaw all financial issues, including the preparation and on-going review of the UTSA budget as well as the approval of all aspects of purchasing, personnel, contract negotiations and travel. He also played an integral role in all revenue producing areas, including the ticket office, concessions, marketing and development as well as assisting in the fundraising and capitol development projects.

During his tenure at UTSA, Street became well-rounded in all areas of Athletic Administration as he served as the Compliance Coordinate, Athletic Business Officer and Marketing Director.

Street spent a great deal of time speaking on behalf of the UTSA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics while serving as a liaison with the NCAA in order to allow the City of San Antonio an opportunity to host the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments. In his time, Street served as the NCAA Tournament Manager for the 2004 Men's Basketball Final Four, 2003 Men's Basketball South Central Regional Tournament, 2002 Women's Basketball Final Four and 2001 Men's Basketball Midwest Regional Tournament.

Street was a member of the Executive Committee for the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee for five years and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Athletic Trainer's Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), College Athletic Business Managers Association and National Athletic Trainer's Association (NATA).

Involved in Intercollegiate Athletic for over 20 years, Street spent time as the Athletic Business Manager and NCAA Compliance Coordinator at the University of Missouri-Rolla prior to joining the UTSA athletic department. In his role, he was in charge of all aspects of the NCAA rules compliance, including initial and continuing eligibility, staff and student-athlete education, monitoring recruiting and playing season and rules interpretation. He also oversaw ticket sales in regards to ticket reconciliation and accounting; supervised support staff and assisted with recruitment of new staff and personnel.

Street was a member of the athletic training staff at Wake Forest University for nine years, including serving as the Associate Head Athletic Trainer from 1994-97. He was also the Administrative Assistant for the men's basketball team during that time. Street was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Marshall University (1986-88) as well as Mankato State University (1985-86).

Street graduated from the University of Iowa in 1984, earning his bachelor's degree in general studies then received his master's degree from Mankato State University in 1986. In 1995, Street earned his M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.
